Riley's 1st kiss

A very good friend of mine has a god son that lives in Dallas, his name is Landon. Landon was born on February 9th and we have been talking about getting him and Riley together for months. Well, they finally met for the first time at a Katy softball game (if you know us at all, you know that it had to be a sporting event) and they were adorable together! Riley, literally, had her first kiss. Look below and you'll see.

She's already driving his truck...must be true love!

Looks like softball...I can't wait!

She was mad at me because I wouldn't let her go onto the field. I'm not sure pictures get more classic than this!

The future Mr. Riley Landers-isn't he so cute? I just want eat his cheeks!

All that softball and making out with her boyfriend (for those of you who had a wise comment I did say BOYfriend) wore her out!

Wouldn't recommend it...

For whatever reason I thought that my very spoiled child should have another birthday party in Dallas (bad idea #1). Even worse I thought we should have it the same weekend we were up for the half marathon (bad idea #2). I will use any reason for everyone to get together and have a good time, especially when we are in Dallas because we don't get to see everyone up there near as much as we would like. So we had a little get together up there and had a great time. Once again, my child was spoiled beyond belief!

Riley giving Addyson kisses! They love each other already let's just hope they don't pay Amanda and I back for everything we've ever done together. That is a scary thought.

My best friend Natalie's kiddos, Titus & Lily. They are so photogenic, just like their mom.

I was so tired from the half marathon (it's like midnight in this picture) and you don't get more peaceful sleep than with a baby. Isn't she adorable!

WE DID IT!!!

After I had Riley I told Trey that I really wanted to set a goal for myself to help me lose the baby weight. After some serious debates and convincing Trey finally committed to running the half marathon with me. We wanted to run Houston in January but didn't register in time so we decided on the Cowtown in Ft. Worth. For those of you in Houston, appreciate the flat land and don't ever dream of running in the "hills" of Ft. Worth, Texas. I'm not the biggest fan of Houston but I do love the flat land. Although we nearly thought we were going to die, we made it. It was 33 degrees with a 27 mile an hour wind when we started and those hills went for all 13.1 miles but we did it! I'm so proud of both of us! Here are a few pictures of our experience...

Although we look ridiculously sexy in this picture, we were so cold we couldn't even pin each others bibs on!
Me and Jugs-THANK GOD she ran with me or I never would have made it! And yes...those of you thinking her headphones are ridiculously large-they are!

Even though I look like the most stellar athlete, I was hurting right here!

FINISHERS-YAY!!!

Free Spirit

I know that most of you have seen these pictures but for Riley's 1-year pics I decided to do something a little more non-traditional. She is such a free spirit and loves to be on the move. She could care less if someone is holding her or not she just wants to get around. A friend of mine from works sister took these pictures out on her land. Riley was on the go when we got outside and Melinda was having a hard time keeping up with her. Here are a few of my favorites...

She must have handed me 2 dozen leaves...and the crazy thing is she got excited everytime she picked up a new one. It seemed to her that each one was so different than the last. Never thought something so simple could seem so fantastic to a one-year-old.

The is my absolute favorite picture of her, maybe ever! It for some reason really captures her personality-I think I could watch her play like this for hours. When I look at it, it makes me smile everytime!
The rocks, gravel, and dirt didn't seem to faze this amazing little girl in her white dress. I had to take it to the cleaners before her dedication at church because it got so dirty!

Okay, okay...I know it has been a really long time since I posted last. I can't even remember what all I have missed...so we will start with Riley's 1st birthday party...let's just say from on Ri is having a "destination birthday" so send all gifts to Mexico or Jamaica, or even Costa Rica-that's where we will be...all kidding aside she had a WONDERFUL birthday with all our friends and family. Now that it is all said and done I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Her favorite thing these days is tupperware and getting into anything that mommy and daddy don't want her to but her favorite sound to make is monkey sounds so we decided to have a "monkey" party. For whatever reason I decided that I was Martha freaking Stewart and that I would make her cakes. Hard, but cute I might add.

This is the cutest cake face I have ever seen!
Believe it or not she did not like her hands being sticky and dirty and she lost interest in the cake pretty fast.

Hmmm...wonder who she look like there?

Logan & Ri LOVE each other. He's already feeding her right out of his hand. Looks like we might have to watch out for this one!

Now we have ALL the boys feeding us...THAT'S MY GIRL!!!
All in all it was a wonderful party! Thank you everyone who came and brought Riley all those wonderful gifts. Having a kid wouldn't be near as fun without wonderful friends and family surrounding us!

1 Year Check-Up

My mom and I took Riley for her 1 year check up yesterday. She weighed 23 lbs 8.5 oz. When she was born she was 8 lbs. 13 oz. That may not seem like much of a gain to some but come over here and carry her around and then tell me that. She is really tall for her age, 31 3/4 inches tall and is now in the 95th percentile for weight and the 99th for height and head circumference. We were PUMPED because we dropped from the 99th for weight too-she is finally starting to balance out with all the other kids her age. Well...not really but we like to pretend like she is. She did really good and we are excited that we don't have to go back until 15 months (or at least we hope).

My ticker works great!

Riley weighed 23 lbs. 8.5 oz.

We love Dr. Gonzales at TCPA-Katy!

Valentine's Day

Never been a fan of this holiday-way too commercialized for me but when you have a little one who was born on Feb. 12 you can't avoid the holiday hardly. My parents have come in town this weekend for Riley's birthday party and baby dedication at church tomorrow. As I sit here in a quiet house it's hard for me to imagine a year ago today I was bringing home this little person who needed me every minute of every day. Now she is at the mall shopping with Grandpa and Gigi and loving every minute of it.

On Thursday if you even mentioned her name I would start crying, "I can't believe my baby is a year old." People always say that time passes fast so enjoy the phase they are in or you will miss it. OH MY GOSH I MISS IT!!! The phases of life that she has flown through over the past year is unreal. On Thursday at school they had a little birthday party for her and Reagan who were born on the same day. I HATED missing it but she ate it up. When I woke her up that morning she seemed like a whole new little person. I dressed her up in her little v-day party dress and took pictures of her when I dropped her off. Even though she had no idea what was going on, she knew she was the center of attention and that was all that mattered.

During the day they sang "Happy Birthday" to the girls and had cake. When we got home she was so tired but when she woke up all that she could think about was her balloon.

You can't see it but her bloomers have her name on them-so cute!
